Based in Liverpool, Michael have worked across many fields within film exhibition, from event management, programming, marketing, press, branding, facilitation/chairing, fundraising, project management, research and development, online platforms, projection and education.

Working full time within organisations such as Curzon Artificial Eye and BFI London Film Festival, and as a freelancer for This Way Up, Storyhouse and Food for Real Film Festival, Michael has developed a wide network of contacts focusing around social and cultural change. With his colleague Philip Foxwood, he founded Cinema Nation to imagine collaborative projects, resulting in the development of Scalarama, a nationwide film celebration each September.

Michael has spoken at several conferences such as Europa Cinemas Conference (Athens), This Way Up (Newcastle) and Network of Arab Alternative Screens (Tunisia), and is currently setting up a community cinema in Liverpool based on a holistic and gender-aware approach to our operations and programming.
